    Good morning the MineSuperior Community! Today we bring you all of the latest information regarding the upcoming season of Factions Mystic. This time we exclusively focused on adding content that was frequently suggested by players over the last couple months. Suggestions that we accepted were anything from the rule changes regarding fly boosting, the addition of faction member limits, and tweaks to mcMMO to provide a more combat experience for all.

    First up today I'd like to talk about the rule changes that were discussed briefly in the most latest newsletter. We entirely abolished the fly boosting rule as we felt it wasn't actually helping us achieve our goal of having a competitive server, if anything the rule was counterproductive as it was punishing players who were accustomed to the rule not being present. Moving onto the minimap rule changes, we've decided to tweak the rule to remove the exception for Factions. This means it no longer is completely disallowed and you are allowed to utilize a minimap as long as no players are present on it. Anyone who was banned by these rules is eligible for an unban simply by opening a ban appeal, though please be nice to them as they'll be busy over the coming weeks.

    Another major change to this season is the introduction of several new limits on the server, and yes I know these limits aren't going to be severe (It's the first season with limits afterall). Now instead of having all of your alts and over 100+ members in a single faction, you will be limited to only 30 members. All alts will have be invited separately and will no longer grant the faction any additional faction power. To compensate for this drastic change we are doubling the available Faction power per member to 30 while tripling the default (The faction power you have when you first login) power to be 15. Furthermore to discourage Factions allying with each other we are limiting the amount of allies a faction can have to be only 3. All of these changes together should do wonders to provide a more level playing field for all factions.

    Finally let's talk about the tweaks to mcMMO, and custom enchants as well. We have finally decided to introduce level caps to nearly all skills to ensure no player can get extremely powerful and cause mayhem. For people who have tons of spare mcMMO credits with maxed skills, we encourage them to spend them in the fishing skill as it won't have a level cap and compete to receive a voucher at the end of the season for being #1. Custom enchants also got fixed up to ensure they won't get too overpowered, now we are limiting custom enchants to only 5 per item instead of the unlimited amount that people were throwing onto everything to prevent people from becoming overpowered.

    Now of course we've made tons of other changes for this upcoming season. This is actually one of our bigger changelogs so I encourage you look through it. You can find the complete changelog below,

    • Tweaks to current rules (appeal if you've been banned under these rules and wouldn't be banned under the new rules).
      • Removal of Fly Boosting rule
      • Tweaking of Minimap rule
        • Removal of the exception that resulted in its complete disallowance on Factions, therefor unifying the entire network's rule set as well.
    • Addition of Faction relations limits
      • Allies: 3 (was unlimited before)
      • Truces: Disabled (was unlimited before)
      • Neutral: Infinite
      • Enemies: Infinite
    • Addition of Faction member limits
      • Member limit: 30 (was unlimited before)
      • Alt limit: Infinite
    • Tweaks to how Faction Power works
      • New max of 30 (up from 15)
      • New starting value of 15 (up from 5)
      • Min value has stayed the same (-15)
    • Addition of level caps to most mcMMO skills
      • All skills except Fishing now have a cap of 5,000
    • Addition of a 5 custom enchant limit for all items.
    • Addition of a reward for being #1 on the fishing leaderboard at the end of the season.
      • Value being a $20 USD voucher
    • Spawners are no longer able to be stored in enderchests or playervaults.
    • Removal of the ability to form faction truces. Use alliances instead for this purpose.
    • Addition of a rule limiting factions to only being able to have a single corner claim.
      • Anyone found in violation of this rule will first be asked which corner claim they want to keep. However failure to respond will result in the staff team making this decision on your behalf.
    • Addition of throwable creeper eggs in the KoTH crate.
    • Summer Crate has been replaced by the Fall Crate.
    • Map length reduced from 4 weeks to 3 weeks going forward.
    • 5x5 and up Trench Pickaxes can now break obsidian.
    • All Trench and Tray Pickaxes are now on a 25% sale for the remainder of this season.
      • Extensions to this sale will be decided at a later point.
    • Re-addition of tags on the store (Now found in bundled packages instead of individual packages)
      • Main reason for this change was because our payment processors were taking over 30% of the revenue generated by Tag purchases. Grouping them together means we get a higher % of the revenue while also giving us the ability to lower costs to our players. Win-win for everyone practically.
      • Secondary reason is because we can now add tags to these packages instead of forcing people to purchase yet another $2.00 USD tag. Though we will come out with new tag bundles every once and awhile.
      • Will be available for purchase around SOTW.
    • Unclaimed spawners after grace period will be searchable via a command.
      • More details on this will be announced closer to grace period end.
      • Though I will admit the purpose of this is to strongly discourage hidden value.
    • Crates now open instantly instead of having an animation.
    • Recolored the entire spawn and KoTHs to make it clear it's a different season to everyone.
      • For those who don't understand how we handle builds here. We get brand new builds every other season and recolor them for the next. This is currently a recoloring season.
    • Recolored all of the holograms to improve their contrast and readability.
    • Fixed rubberbanding issues on slabs.
    • Shrunk the size of the invisible region so people can see each other in the spawn.
      • Reason behind this was because we felt the spawn felt like a ghost town rather than a place for people to hang out.
    • Shrunk the view distance from 15 to 6.
      • Main reason is to improve client and server performance.
      • As an aside, 15 view distance is actually what we use in development, problem is that last season it wasn't changed back to the normal amount.
    • Addition of a changelog ingame because not everyone wants to actually view these forums.
    • We are re-enabling the feedback channel for discord users with the Factions role after SOTW.
    • We are moving both suggestions and bug reports channels to utilize google forums instead so we can better go through suggestions and bug reports.
      • Any controversial yet accepted suggestions will go up for poll as another step to ensure the suggestion is actually wanted.
    • Many changes for staff related purposes so they can do their job better and more efficiently.
      • Example being tons of new monitoring software so we can figure out what's causing the microstuttering issues on Factions. While not everyone can notice them they are an issue we want to fix even if they are minor.

    We have not changed F-TOP payouts for this season as we felt they encourage enough competition by themselves and we should focus on other aspects of the server first before changing these again.. For those who just want a reminder of the payouts each week, here you go,

    1. $400 USD PayPal + $200 USD MineSuperior Store Gift Card

    3. $125 USD PayPal + $75 USD MineSuperior Store Gift Card

    Going forward we decided to reduce the length of all seasons to 3 weeks with occasional 4 week maps. This decision was made to allow for more content updates and to provide us the ability to give everyone the best experience as often as possible. Anyway due to the season being 3 weeks long we’ll also have 3 payouts which will occur on the following dates,
    1. October 3rd, 2020 @ 3PM ET
    2. October 10th, 2020 @ 3PM ET
    3. October 16th, 2020 @ 4PM ET
    Also new to this season we are adding another reward for being on the top of the fishing leaderboard to encourage people to do things that aren't quite related to factions gameplay. The reward for being #1 being a $20 USD voucher at the end of the season.

    The 17th season of Factions Mystic launches later today @ 3PM EDT (or around 11 hours from when this goes live). As usual we encourage everyone to get on immediately to claim their corner as they usually get claimed within 10 minutes.

    For those curious about the grace period, that’ll end on September 30th @ 4PM, at which point all protections against TNT and creepers will be instantly removed. Furthermore PVP grace will end then meaning you’ll be able to engage in combat at people’s bases. Both of these commencing the raiding session.

    For what is being kept, here's the list so you can figure out what you'll have for SOTW
    • Ranks (and all of the perks you get with them and one time rewards)
    • Tags
    • Commands such as /fly
    • Purchased kits such as /kit raid.
    • Sell wands (If they were purchased during Factions Mystic Season 16)
    • Chunk busters (If they were purchased during Factions Mystic Season 16)
    • Chunk collectors (If they were purchased during Factions Mystic Season 16)
    • Shields (If they were purchased during Factions Mystic Season 16)
    • Faction power (If they were purchased during Factions Mystic Season 16)
    • Trench pickaxes (If they were purchased during Factions Mystic Season 16)
    • Tray pickaxes (If they were purchased during Factions Mystic Season 16)

    And for what isn't being kept from the last map, as usual,
    • Spawner purchases
    • Crate Key purchases
    • In game balance
    • mcMMO levels

    Please be aware terrible that criticism is best when you describe the problem in detail. This isn't exactly helpful to us. What I can say is that we are working on improving the shields plugin, though it didn't make it to this season.

    Printer is up for debate currently, but nothing will change this season with printer.

    Server launches in roughly an hour from now, you'll be able to join then!

      Can I add something here? This will make picking up value from a raid, if you were to break a stack of like 1.5k spawners, kinda hard to store that in inventory. Can you make a /spawner vault or some BS for a future map, deletes things after 24 hours or something? Idk. Kind of doesn't work but yeh.
