Important Skyblock Chaos - A Breath of Fresh Air

    Skyblock Chaos

    Greetings Everyone,

    Around a year ago, we ended the Infinity series of Skyblock servers with the release of Skyblock Theta. Since then, Skyblock has seen tremendous growth across the board, with it hitting over 750 players this past weekend. One thing that became obvious to us as time went by, however, was the struggle of dealing with an un-resettable server. When Infinity first released, we promised that it wouldn’t be reset, and I’m going to keep my word on that. The problem with that, however, was that optimizing the server became insanely difficult, and we were unable to add certain features to Infinity, as they would require a complete reset for the changes to apply. As a solution to this, we came up with a new version of Skyblock that would solve all of these problems, which we called Skyblock Chaos.

    Skyblock Chaos will release on:
    Saturday, June 1st at 3:00 PM ET

    To keep things brief, Skyblock Chaos could be considered a counterpart to Skyblock Infinity, but just with a few major changes. For one, while Skyblock Infinity is meant to provide a chill atmosphere for the players, Skyblock Chaos focuses around a competitive environment where each Island competes to get the Island Top. Due to this kind of gamestyle, Chaos will reset on regular intervals, which we’re calling “Seasons.” Similar to Factions, we’re adding Island Top prizes, which will be listed below, but Season 1 will give out $4,000 in Island Top Prizes over the span of 8 weeks, paid out every Sunday at 3:00 ET.

    WEEKLY ISLAND TOP REWARDS:
    #1 - $125 PayPal + $125 Buycraft GC
    #2 - $75 PayPal + $75 Buycraft GC
    #3 - $30 PayPal + $30 Buycraft GC
    #4 - $25 Buycraft GC
    #5 - $15 Buycraft GC​

    Obviously, due to the nature of Skyblock Chaos versus Skyblock Infinity, some things had to be changed to better fit the game style. For one, we’ve added a stricter Hopper Limit, with there being actual Hopper Upgrades now (Under the normal Island Upgrades panel). Additionally, we’ve heavily nerfed Minions, as we felt that they were a bit too overpowered when it came to a competitive environment, and make the game too “P2W” in a sense. A full changelog will be posted down below with all the major differences between Chaos and Infinity.

    WHAT ABOUT INFINITY?:
    For anyone wondering what’ll happen to Infinity, the answer to that is that Infinity will continue to run as normal. I’ve been focusing my time recently on Chaos mainly due to the Beta Testing period (Thanks Staff + Kappas!), but once Chaos releases and gets settled, I’ll be going back to Infinity and will release a lot of updates and revamps to help improve QoL.

    CHANGELOG:
    • Revamped the Island Top System
    • Changed Hopper Limit to 100 + added Hopper Limit Upgrades
      • Accessible via /is upgrades
    • Nerfed Minions (Similar to Minions 1.0 in essence)
      • Removed Auto Sell, Auto Smelt, and Auto Feed
      • Action Rates changed from 1 Second to 3 Seconds
    • Revamped the entire Shop
      • Currently, there’s a focus towards mining, but changes will be made to bring up the potential for farming and mob drops
    • Implemented v1 of Uranus, our new Auction House plugin
    • Changed Spawner, Crop Growth, + Hopper Rates to default values
      • NOTE: These rates may change as time progresses due to lag potential
    • Added Bosses
      • Fight the Greek Gods with your Island Members to earn awesome rewards.
      • Rewards are based on a “damage bracket”
        • Viewable by typing /bosses and clicking the “Reward Brackets” button under the Boss GUI
    • Added Boosters
      • Multiply intake of McMMO, Money, and EXP for certain periods of time
    • Added Entity Limiters for Hopper + Chest Minecarts
      • Only a maximum of 5 each are allowed per island to help prevent lag issues (And Hopper Limit bypassing)

    Overall, we’re really excited for you guys to see all the fruits of our labor. We’ve spent countless hours working on Chaos and fine-tuning it during our closed beta sessions (Shoutout all the Kappas + Staff!) to ensure that we have as stable of a release as we can for a competitive server (Something that’s extremely hard to do). Alongside this announcement, we’ve publicized the Chaos Store category on our server web store and have launched a ABYSS RANK + MINER GIVEAWAY on our Twitter.

    Not really a fan of reset servers, but it definitely will see a ton of players on it. Definitely will boost the player base too I believe.
