A Bigger, Better Towny Reborn
As Towny Reborn approaches its 4 year anniversary, we felt it was important to give the community one of the biggest updates it has ever received. During the development phase, this update grew from being a simple version update into something much bigger than we could have ever imagined.
As well as adding something that, 4 years ago, we never thought would be possible, we have also added, rebalanced, and changed a wide variety of features, which we will outline below.
1.21.11 Update
As part of this update, Towny Reborn has officially been updated to 1.21.11, bringing the server up to the latest version and allowing players to experience all of the new content, features, mobs, and items added with this update.
To celebrate the update, we have also added a limited-time cosmetic tag that is available to all players for free. To claim it, simply head to /spawn and click the update NPC. Make sure to grab it while you can, as this tag will only be available for a limited time!
World Border Increase
Finally, we've made a change that we never thought would be possible four years ago. The Towny world border has been increased from 40,000 x 40,000 to 60,000 x 60,000, making this one of the biggest features we've added to Towny since its original launch.
With this expansion, players will now be able to explore brand-new areas in the main world, discover new structures, encounter new mobs, and take part in Trial Chambers. Players will also now RTP directly into the expanded map, giving both new and existing players more space to explore, settle down, and create brand-new towns.
On the map, the current world border is outlined in red. Everything outside of that red border shows the newly expanded area that will become available to all players once the update goes live.
World Resets
Going into this reset, we knew that the Nether and End had not been reset in a number of months. Because of this, we've created a brand-new Nether, End, and Resource World for players to explore.
This gives everyone a fresh chance to gather new ores, spawners, and loot across all three worlds. Not to mention, players will once again have the chance to claim the iconic DRAGON EGG!
Live Towny Map
We have added a real time map for towny which shows a variety of information this includes; live player location, town location and, when clicking on the town it will show whom the mayor is and assistants by default the towny portion of the map is disabled to improve map performance.
This will not be immediately available after the update goes live as we are still concluding development on privacy related settings, but once it is available you will be able to find the map using this link here. In the interest of fair play we have only enabled this in the main world.
For those wishing to hide their Town or their current location in the world. There will be settings provided to opt out of showing on the live map. More details to come after launch. Be mindful this will not hide any of your builds on the surface.
Cosmetic Upgrades
While we have been developing this update, in the background we've also been working on finishing our overhaul of our cosmetics system. Going forward all cosmetics will be based off of netherite armor and tools. Existing cosmetics will be upgraded automatically in place upon logging in.
For the museum curators, some additional will be needed to modernize your collection. You will have to pickup your cosmetics off of item frames & armor stands for the server to update them. Likewise for the collectors, you will need to pull your older cosmetics out of storage and relog with them for the server to automatically upgrade them.
For stubborn items with missing lores, shortly after the launch of this update, we are introducing a self service NPC in Towny spawn. Allowing you to get a fresh replacement of any cosmetic in your inventory. For those with signed items, please contact support on discord.
Drop Party Rotation
During this update, we listened to player feedback and focused on bringing fresh rewards to Drop Party. We've introduced a variety of cosmetics from our resource pack, giving players even more unique items to collect.
In addition, we've refreshed the reward pool by replacing all existing emoji rewards and introducing a selection of brand-new tags. You'll also notice that the finale rewards have been completely revamped, now featuring new emojis, exclusive cosmetics, and other exciting rewards to make the end of each Drop Party even more rewarding.
Left Twit Rotation
We also felt it was time for a refresh, so we've completed a brand-new Left Twit rotation. This rotation includes four brand-new cosmetics, featuring three staff plushies and a never-before-seen katana.
Alongside these new additions, we've also brought back Borkies and Cubic Plushies for players to collect. Most notably, this will be the final time to obtain the beloved Granny Plushie, so make sure you don't miss out before it's gone!
Brand New Bundles
We've also added two limited-time bundles for players to pick up during this update.
The first of these is the Mayhem Bundle, a one-time, non-cosmetic bundle dedicated to this update. Inside, you'll find the usual selection of tools, alongside an Elytra and a range of new 1.21.11 items, including the Spear, Netherite Horse Armor, Nautilus Armor, and three unique spawners featuring new 1.21.11 mobs.
To top it all off, the bundle also includes the exclusive Mayhem Tag, making this a perfect bundle for players looking to get their hands on some of the newest content added this update.
Finally, we've added the Splash Bundle, a limited-time cosmetic set made especially for Summer 2026.
This bundle includes a variety of cosmetic tools, alongside a full cosmetic armor set for players to show off throughout the summer. Players who purchase the Splash Bundle will also receive the exclusive Splash Tag, making it the perfect bundle for anyone looking to add something fresh and seasonal to their collection.
Both of these bundles will only be available for 2 WEEKS, so make sure to pick them up while you can. Once this rotation ends, they will be removed from the store, so don't miss your chance to grab the Mayhem Bundle, Splash Bundle, and their exclusive limited-time rewards.
Collections Event & Giveaway
To celebrate the release of this update, soon after launch we'll be kickstarting a brand new Collections event where you will have to deliver spears to the collections NPC. Running alongside that we'll be doing a giveaway for 2 Mayhem and 2 Splash bundles that will be going live right after this announcement. All you'll have to do is enter via our discord.
Final Remarks
Overall, this update marks one of the biggest moments in Towny Reborn's history as we approach its 4 year anniversary. What started as a simple version update quickly became a much larger project, bringing new worlds, expanded exploration, refreshed rewards, limited-time bundles, and major quality-of-life additions for the community.
Players can now explore a much larger main world with the border increased from 40,000 x 40,000 to 60,000 x 60,000, giving everyone more room to build, create towns, discover new structures, encounter new mobs, and experience Trial Chambers. Alongside this, the Nether, End, and Resource World have all been fully reset, giving players a fresh opportunity to gather new loot, spawners, ores, and even claim the iconic DRAGON EGG.
We've also introduced a brand-new live Towny map, refreshed the Drop Party and Left Twit reward rotations, added new cosmetics, tags, emojis, plushies, and limited-time rewards. On top of that, the Mayhem and Splash bundles bring even more exclusive content to this update, with both bundles only being available for 2 WEEKS.
This update is a celebration of how far Towny Reborn has come over the last 4 years, while also setting the foundation for an exciting new chapter. Whether you're returning to explore the expanded world, starting a brand-new town, collecting limited-time rewards, or jumping into the refreshed worlds, there has never been a better time to be part of Towny Reborn.
To allow this substantial update to take place, this upcoming Saturday 13th, Towny Reborn will be taken offline at approximately 11:00 AM US Eastern Time for around 3 hours. Coming back online around 2:00PM US Eastern Time. Make sure to check the discord for updates during the maintenance process.
During this maintenance period, all other MineSuperior servers will remain fully operational.
